Meet Dr. Ben Vorpahl

Ever since I decided I wanted to go into dentistry, I knew that I wanted to work for the office that I had gone to as a patient. Growing up, I always enjoyed my appointments at Seubert Family Dentistry (formerly Curran and Seubert Dental Office). The dentists, hygienists, assistants, and office staff always made me feel welcome and at ease. I could tell that each employee at the office enjoyed their work and truly wanted the best for each patient. I understand that many people say that they dislike going to the dentist and I want to have the chance to change their perceptions. I want all of my patients to feel those same feelings that I felt in my appointments. I want them to know that I deeply care about their well-being and take their concerns and needs seriously.

Education and Continuing Education

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, minor in Chemistry from Ripon College
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery — University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry My education at Detroit Mercy

Dental centered around providing patient-centered care. The clinical experience I gained there will allow me to administer high-quality dental care while also giving my patients the understanding of the importance of their treatment.

Ever since beginning my path in the dental field, I have been interested in restorative dentistry and tooth replacement options. I plan on being engaged with continuing education courses in these and other disciplines to always be able to provide my patients with the best possible treatment options, tailored to their specific needs.

Outside the Office

Having grown up in Portage, it was always my dream to return to my hometown. I have always felt lucky that I had been able to participate in many different organizations and activities in this community. I played soccer, baseball, swam on the Portage Youth Swim Team, and won a state championship with my high school curling team. I played trumpet and euphonium in multiple bands and was a 3-year drum major of the Portage High School Marching Band. I sang in choir and was cast in the lead role in two high school musicals, The Sound of Music and Guys and Dolls. I am also a member of Saint Mary's Church in Portage.
